Before becoming a real estate agent, Maria Vanessa developed an empty factory space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn where she created eight live-work spaces, and fifteen work studio spaces in the subfloor. She herself lived on-site, and founded her art gallery Gitana Rosa from its storefront unit. The Williamsburg project honed her skills in leasing and subleasing space, construction and time management, negotiating contracts, and of course, the legal process in real estate. Following her Brooklyn location, Maria Vanessa has had living, gallery, and retail spaces in Beacon, Chelsea, and Piermont, NY, and NJ. She has also lived in places such as Colorado and California. Her passion for creating urban revitalization projects that unite creative people and benefit the local community lead her to become a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor (CSBA) in 2015, more recently a certified GREEN Realtor (2021) and Short Sale and Foreclosure Specialist (2020).
